The Stables art project works along side emerging local artists and our in-store clothing labels to produce a series of installations and exhibitions that focus on the intersection between fashion and art.
Our second Art Project sees local artist and photographer, Valentina Schulte, work alongside Swedish rainwear brand Stutterheim turning the front window and the store into a space that embraces melancholy and creativity by embracing the rain.
Schulte’s art focuses on photography, video and sound experiments through which she questions how the physical urban and natural landscape shapes our conscious. Working with large scale photography her pensive and introspective images reflect Stutterheim’s belief that melancholy is an active state, expressing a feeling of unease with convention and society that forces us to explore ourselves and come up with new ways of being and seeing the world. Valentina’s original works will also be on sale within the store alongside Sutterheim’s new collection for the remainder of the exhibition.
A launch night for the project will take place on Thursday 9th of June in store.
