Collaborative in nature, Monocle has come together with illustrator Tomi Um to envision the perfect precinct.
We've naturally drawn parallels to this concept and our own intentions with The Stables Co-op, as a creative community whose purpose is to showcase ourselves as a one stop multi-facet destination. We launched our concept in 2013 with the mindset of curating a mix of brands rich in story and quality, while immersed in the scent of coffee beans.
Over time our conceptual idea has grown into a multi level Victorian terrace, housing creative enterprises diverse in their own vision. The ever expanding Stables Co-op includes the Stables Retail, Venus Wholefoods Café and District Salon. Contrary to modern day department stores The Stables, as its moniker presents; retail, digital media, distribution and much more while reminding all of us - businesses used to co-exist.
This collaborative concept extends beyond the physical store, reflected in our work with the Surry Hills Creative Precinct, a non-profit organisation stabbed to promote Surry Hills as creative cluster and cultural hub. We also hold event productions, and have partnered and collaborated with Monocle Magazine, who currently have a pop up in store, and Sol Invictus Motor Co.
The Stables continuously look to build and provide the highest quality product and service to help the team and the industry grow. This is our story.
