The Stables Art Projects works along side emerging local artists and our in-store clothing labels to produce a series of installations and exhibitions that focus on the intersection between fashion and art.
The Art Projects transforms the large glass fronted window and the store's interior into a collaborative design, art and fashion-focused project.
Our third project sees us join forces with multi-platform agency, The Ladies Network, who supports and recognise the creative contribution of women in the areas of art, design and business. So far they have curated numerous exhibitions, live gigs and other events supporting female artist of all different genres. The collaboration sees artist Natalie Synnott of The Ladies Network working alongside LA based label, Objects Without Meaning.
We are excited to be the first Australian home of cult label 'Objects Without Meaning' who focus on developing a product that emphasises the wearer rather than the objects, placing focus on the beautiful simplicity of form. O-M leaves the air clear for individuals to express their true nature, disconnecting itself from the idea of clothing being just an object. This sits perfectly with Natalie's own art which explores themes of disconnect and self-destruction but in a playful and humorous manner. Her use of bright pastels, poetry, and bowls of fruit to deal with themes of dating, relationships and sex is a satirical look at our attempt to connect the world around us.
Natalie's original work will be on sale within the store alongside Objects Without Meaning for the duration of the exhibition as well as creating a brand new art piece for our store window.
A launch night for the project will take place on Thursday 8th of September in store and a 15% discount is offered for all customers on the night.
There will be drinks, nibble and giveaways but numbers are limited on the night so RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org to lock in a spot.
